Bus accident leaves 1 dead, nearly 20 injured

A bus accident just occurred on National Highway 4H in Muong Cha district, Dien Bien province, leaving at least 1 person dead and nearly 20 injured.

The accident occurred at 5:30 this morning (October 16) at Km13+120 National Highway 4H, the passenger bus with license plate 29F - 052.26 was traveling in the direction of Muong Cha - Muong Nhe when the accident occurred.

The initial cause was determined to be that the passenger bus lost control and crashed into a positive embankment. At the time of the accident, there were 19 people on the bus, all passengers were injured, including 1 dead and 5 seriously injured.

On the morning of October 16, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the leader of Muong Cha district, Dien Bien province confirmed the above information and said that all victims had been taken to the district's Medical Center for emergency treatment.

At the time of the accident, there was thick fog at the scene making the road slippery.

"The district has asked for support from the Dien Bien Department of Health. Currently, an ambulance and doctors are on their way to Muong Cha," said the leader of Muong Cha district.

Mr. Pham Giang Nam - Director of the Department of Health of Dien Bien province said that immediately after receiving the information, the Department of Health sent 3 ambulances and doctors from the Department of Surgery - Dien Bien General Hospital to reinforce the district medical center to carry out emergency treatment.
