On August 16, Vietnam Education Publishing House donated 1,235 sets of textbooks "Connecting knowledge with life" with a total value of 290 million VND to primary and secondary school students in the communes of Xa Dung, Muong Luan, and Tia Dinh of Dien Bien province.

According to Mr. Tran Dang Ninh - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dien Bien, this is an extremely meaningful gift to help students have enough books to study from the first days of the new school year 2025 - 2026.
The Department also commits to promptly and accurately distributing all the books donated to the right subjects, helping them feel secure in their studies and achieve many good results in the new school year.

The flood caused 7 students to die; many educational institutions had their facilities, teaching equipment, and textbooks washed away or completely damaged. Estimated damage is over 8.3 billion VND.
As for textbooks alone, thousands of them have been washed away or completely damaged. Through the review, 1,235 students in the 5 most affected schools no longer have enough textbooks for the new school year. In particular, Chieng So Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities - Secondary School, Muong Luan commune lacks 530 students.
