More than a week after the flood, Chieng So Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities still has a messy scene, with mud still printed all over the walls of classrooms, some places up to 2m high. Students' desks, chairs, and books are covered with mud.

Accordingly, the historic flood caused the water level to rise by more than 3 meters above the school's surface.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Danh Hy - Principal of Chieng So Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities - could not hide his sadness: "All assets, teaching equipment and books in the library were damaged. In general, the school only has one house left.

Worries before the opening day

Teacher Tran Van Bo - who has been with the school for 15 years - said: "The elderly in the village also said that this was the first time in their life they had seen such a flood. As a teacher, seeing the scene of tables and chairs, the teaching equipment system is broken, it is really difficult".

The biggest concern of teachers at this time is that the new school year is approaching. "The whole school has about 530 students, of which 330 are boarding students. It is expected that on August 28, students will return to school to prepare for the opening ceremony. However, there are almost no tools left..." - the principal said.
