On August 19, the Office of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that Mr. Dau Thanh Tung - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has signed a decision approving the Project to merge Thanh Hoa Vocational Secondary School of Engineering into Thanh Hoa Agricultural College.
Accordingly, after the merger, the new school is expected to be named Thanh Hoa College of Technology and Agriculture, directly under Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee.
The new school's headquarters is located at Km 16, National Highway 47, Trieu Son commune. The school has 2 more training facilities at No. 104 Bach Dang street, Quang Phu ward and No. 5, Phu Chung street 3, Tay Son 2 street, Hac Thanh ward.
Currently, Thanh Hoa Agriculture College has 111 officials, employees, and laborers; is training 944 students, including 54 college students, 665 intermediate students, 19 elementary students and 206 students studying general education after intermediate level.
Thanh Hoa Vocational Secondary School of Engineering and Technology has 18 officials, teachers, staff and workers; currently there are 153 vocational secondary school students attending.
According to the plan, after the merger, Thanh Hoa College of Technology and Agriculture has 129 officials, employees, and laborers, including 106 people in the payroll and 23 contract workers, while the total number of people assigned to work is 144.
The School Board is expected to include 1 principal and 3 vice principals. The total number of leaders and managers is 39 people, including 4 people in the School Board and 35 heads and deputy heads of departments, faculties, and centers. The school will continue to review and develop a roadmap to reduce the number of managers, especially deputy heads, within 5 years after the merger.
The apparatus of the 2 schools currently has a total of 14 affiliated units. After arrangement, there are 10 units left, a reduction of 4 focal points, equivalent to 28.57%.
The school has 5 faculties including: Agriculture and Forestry; Economics - Information Technology; Electrical Technology - Irrigation; Technology - Fisheries; Basic Sciences and 1 Center for Career Guidance, Application and Technology Transfer.
After the merger, all officials and employees of Thanh Hoa Vocational Secondary School of Engineering and Technology will be received and arranged for job positions based on the expertise, capacity and needs of the new school.
For learners, the school will receive all applications and continue to organize training according to the registered program. Students who have been admitted and enrolled at Thanh Hoa Vocational Secondary School of Engineering and Technology until the end of 2026 are guaranteed to continue studying according to the program, duration, output standards and current benefits.
All land, assets, and equipment of Thanh Hoa Vocational Secondary School of Engineering and Technology are also proposed to be transferred in their original state to the new school.
After the merger, Thanh Hoa College of Technology and Agriculture is expected to manage a total area of 265,242.4m2 of land, with 69 offices, 68 theoretical classrooms, 31 workshops and practice rooms, 78 dormitory rooms and auxiliary works.
The facility of Thanh Hoa Vocational Secondary School of Technology in Hac Thanh ward is proposed to continue to be used as a training facility because it has practice rooms and equipment serving welding, fashion sewing, woodworking, automotive technology...
According to the roadmap in the project, in August 2026, the dossier will be submitted to the Minister of Education and Training for promulgation of the merger decision. From August to September 2026, a plan for arranging the apparatus and personnel will be developed.
In September 2026, it is expected to hand over cadres, lecturers, learners, finance, assets, headquarters; and at the same time consolidate the Board of Directors, leaders of departments, faculties, centers and stabilize training activities.
