From the determination to overcome learning difficulties
Mr. Tran Dinh Hieu - Principal of Tran Quoc Toan Primary School, Da Huoai District (Lam Dong Province) - shared that he was born into a poor farming family in Ha Tinh Province.
His childhood was associated with a difficult subsidy period. Because of the family's difficult life, his parents struggled to raise him until he finished 12th grade. After that, Mr. Hieu followed his relatives to Lam Dong to start a business at the end of 1989.
"After my birth, struggling with life, I found a love for the teaching profession, so I decided to take the entrance exam to Da Lat Pedagogical High School. This is a profession that no one in my family had dared to think about before, Mr. Hieu shared.
After graduating from the pedagogical school, he returned to Da Huoai to work. He was assigned to teach at many schools in remote and disadvantaged areas of the district.
During his work and family establishment in the locality, Mr. Hieu always tries to overcome difficulties and complete all assigned tasks well. At the same time, he constantly self-study, improving his professional knowledge and political theory.
After only 3 years of teaching, Mr. Hieu was appointed as Vice Principal and then Principal at many primary schools such as Ha Lam, Da M'ri town and Tran Quoc Toan.
"The older you are, the more difficult it is to learn. But I think studying is not only for myself but also an example for colleagues and children, Mr. Hieu shared.
With that spirit, he works and continues to study at college, university and the education management program.
For me, this is truly a miracle that I myself did not expect to have overcome, said teacher Tran Dinh Hieu.
To be awarded the Third Class Labor Medal
Following the example of husband and wife of teacher Tran Dinh Hieu, he also teaches, takes care of his family and goes through school to improve from intermediate level to university.
Teacher Hieu is proud that his eldest son graduated from the Mathematics major at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education and has taught in this city.
But it did not stop there, Mr. Hieu's son continued to pass the entrance exam to the Faculty of Mathematics, Wayne State University, Michigan, USA with a full scholarship of 5 years and successfully defended his PhD thesis in Mathematics here.
Teacher Hieu is also proud of his daughter who recently graduated from the Finance - Banking major at Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics. Following the example of his parents and brother, Mr. Hieu's daughter continues to study abroad for a PhD in economics at Wayne State University, Michigan, USA with a full scholarship of 5 years.
With his efforts to become a pillar for family members, teacher Hieu was recently awarded the Third Class Labor Medal. Lam Dong Provincial Association for the Promotion of Education also awarded a "never-ending" scholarship to teacher Tran Dinh Hieu.
