The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City has ended. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) is organizing exam marking work.
According to the Department, the grading work is carried out according to strict procedures to ensure fairness, objectivity and accuracy for candidates.
According to regulations, the exam paper is graded on a scale of 10, the decimal point of the total score of the entire paper is rounded to two decimal places. Each exam paper goes through two independent grading rounds performed by two examiners from two different grading teams.
Before grading, the Secretariat of the Exam Council handed over the bags of exam papers that had been marked to the subject head for grading. The subject head organized to thoroughly grasp the regulations, discuss answer keys and guide grading for the team leaders. The grading teams also conducted a common grading of at least 10 papers to unify the evaluation method before official grading.
In the first marking session, the examiner checks the number of sheets and number of sheets of each exam paper, crosses out the remaining blank sheets and absolutely does not write any content on the candidate's paper other than the symbols as prescribed. Scores and comments are only recorded on the marking sheet.
After completing the first marking, the Secretariat withdraws all the marking sheets and randomly assigns the exam papers to another examiner to perform the second marking. The second round examiner directly scores the exam paper and marking sheet.
After two rounds of grading, the grading teams proceed to compare the results. If the score of the entire paper or the component score differs by less than 0.75 points, the two examiners will exchange to agree on the score.
In case the score difference is from 0.75 to 1.25 points, the two examiners must discuss, make a record and report to the head of the grading team to agree on the score. If the two examiners cannot agree, the head of the grading team will make a record to decide the score and report to the head of the grading subject.
If the score difference between the two markings is 1.5 points or more, the exam paper will be marked for the 3rd time by another examiner.
In case two out of three scoring times give the same result, that score is taken as the official score. If all three scoring times are different but the largest difference does not exceed 2.5 points, the average score of the three scoring times is taken. In case the largest difference exceeds 2.5 points, the scoring team must organize a common scoring, make a record of score unification before recognizing the final result.
