Days before G-hour
In the days leading up to the exam, many students are still diligently reviewing in a tense but determined mood. The pressure comes not only from the graduation exam but also from the university door ahead. Therefore, besides consolidating knowledge, many students are also taking advantage of completing application documents, preparing for important choices of the future.
For Nguyen Minh Quan - a 12th grade student at Cao Ba Quat High School - Gia Lam (Hanoi), these days are almost fully divided by the review schedule. Instead of just focusing on solving questions, he spends a lot of time reviewing the uncertain knowledge parts.
I try to be sure of the questions I can do, review the wrong questions and find more ways to solve difficult problems. I think this stage is not just about learning a lot but also about learning correctly and carefully to avoid losing points regrettably" - Quan shared.
This year, the failure to announce sample exams has made the review process of many students more stressful. According to Quan, this requires candidates to expand the scope of review instead of just focusing on some familiar forms of knowledge.
Not only preparing for the graduation exam, Quan also aims to become a Marketing student of the National Economics University. Besides the graduation exam scores, he has proactively prepared other admission methods such as IELTS, competency assessment exams and beautiful transcripts.
For Nguyen Thuc Anh - Minh Quan's classmate, the last days before the exam are no longer a time for scattered study but a time to look back at the entire review process. The female student proactively builds her own study plan, spends time filling in the missing knowledge, gradually consolidating her confidence before the important moment of school age.
Knowledge is important, psychology is even more important
Besides consolidating knowledge, stable health and psychology are what teachers pay special attention to in the last days before the exam.
According to Ms. Hoang Thi Kim Que - Vice Principal of Cao Ba Quat High School - Gia Lam (Hanoi), at the present time, maintaining health is the most important factor. "Students must take good care of their health to have the best physical condition when entering the exam room. When doing the test, students need to be calm, confident, focused and apply the knowledge and skills accumulated throughout the learning process" - Ms. Que advised.
Not only preparing for the upcoming exam, Ms. Que also encourages students to spend time learning carefully about majors and schools to have choices that suit their abilities, interests and needs of society after having exam results.
From the perspective of a teacher directly teaching, Ms. Tran Thi Tho - a teacher at Hoang Van Thu High School (Hanoi) shared: "The finishing stage will determine a lot of your results. What is needed at this time is perseverance, steadfastness and confidence in the review plan that has been built.
The female teacher said that students should not be too worried or fluctuate in the face of outside information. The most important thing is to focus on their goals. "From now until the exam day, students need to focus all their efforts on reviewing, maintaining health and stabilizing psychology. When entering the exam room with the best spirit, students will be able to develop their abilities" - Ms. Tho emphasized.
This year's high school graduation exam has 1,223,776 registered candidates, an increase of 61,642 candidates compared to the previous year; of which 1,204,806 candidates registered online, reaching 98.45%. The whole country arranged 2,487 exam sites with nearly 50,000 exam rooms.
