According to the report of the Lao Cai Provincial Exam Steering Committee, this year's exam has 19,810 registered candidates in the whole province, including 18,882 12th grade students and 928 independent candidates.
The province arranges 58 exam sites with 852 exam rooms, expected to mobilize about 4,500 people to participate in serving and organizing the exam.
Lao Cai identifies the goal of organizing the exam seriously, safely, in accordance with regulations, without allowing errors to occur at any stage.
Up to now, the locality has issued complete directing documents, established a Provincial Steering Committee, and assigned specific tasks to each related sector and unit.

Along with reviewing and professional training for the exam force, the province especially focuses on propagating the new points of the exam, preparing facilities and developing response plans for unusual situations such as natural disasters, floods, fires, power outages or communication interruptions.
Lao Cai Provincial Police also coordinated with the education sector to develop a plan to ensure security and safety for all stages of the exam.
At the working session, Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh - Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the 2026 High School Graduation Exam in Lao Cai province - requested the Ministry of Education and Training to continue to support localities in handling situations arising when implementing the two-level local government model; and at the same time strengthen professional and nghiệp vụ guidance on inspection and examination according to new regulations.

Highly appreciating the preparation work of Lao Cai province, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh - Head of the delegation requested the locality to continue to comprehensively review all stages of organization with the spirit of "not missing tasks, not empty tasks", ensuring the exam takes place safely, seriously, objectively and fairly.
Ms. Quyen Thanh also reminded Lao Cai province to pay attention to supporting and encouraging candidates, especially students in remote and isolated areas, ethnic minority areas; and at the same time proactively develop plans to respond to natural disasters and situations arising during the exam period.
