Phan Trong Tue, a 9th grade student at Lien Ha Secondary School (Dan Phuong, Hanoi) shared that he is currently very nervous and waiting for information about the third exam subject for grade 10 in Hanoi. The male student expressed his hope that the third exam subject will be English.
"This is a subject that I have been studying diligently since 8th grade and have a certain foundation compared to the other subjects. English is also a subject that most students pay attention to, so when choosing it, it will limit bias.
I have seen some information in other provinces and cities and found that English has been chosen in many localities, so I hope that the Hanoi Department will choose this subject" - Tue shared.
According to the high school admission regulations issued by the Ministry of Education and Training with No. 30/2024/TT-BGDDT, the third exam subject (test) is selected by the Department of Education and Training from the subjects assessed by scores in the general education program at the secondary school level, announced no later than March 31 every year.
In 2025, the first batch of students studying the 2018 General Education Program will take the 10th grade entrance exam. Previously, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced sample questions for the 10th grade entrance exam.
Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong noted that based on the structure and format of the 10th grade exam for the 2025-2026 school year issued by the Department, schools should build a bank of test and assessment questions according to the requirements of the subject and organize for students to practice thoroughly. Particularly for the Literature subject, schools should avoid using texts and excerpts from textbooks as test and assessment materials to overcome the phenomenon of students memorizing mechanically.
