On November 8, images of a text message allegedly from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDDT) were circulated on social media, requesting to monitor, arrest, and review teachers who teach extra classes.
The message has the following content: "The Department of Education and Training requests that the education and training departments report on the situation of primary and secondary schools according to the following specific requirements:
1. Closely monitor the area, catch and review teachers who teach extra classes after hours; attach specific photos of which school and where; make a report to the Department of Education and Training.
2. Review the situation of extra teaching and learning in the area. Report statistics and reports on the situation of extra teaching and learning to the Department of Primary Education and the Department of Secondary Education by email before 9:00 a.m. on November 30 for synthesis and reporting to the City People's Committee.
Regarding this issue, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training confirmed that this is a fake message, possibly intended to collect information against regulations.
According to this person, the Department of Education and Training has transferred information about this fake and impersonating message to the city police to verify the incident.
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requests that schools and teachers do not provide information according to the content of the fake message above. At the same time, schools or teachers who have specific information about this message should report to the Department to provide it to the police for handling.
This person emphasized that when there is direction, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will issue administrative documents according to regulations.
