On May 26, Mr. Vuong Hong Thai - Vice Chairman of Nam Dan District People's Committee - said that regarding the case of hundreds of teachers in Nam Dan district being charged social insurance after retirement, up to now, 22 out of 44 educational institutions in the area have found documents showing that they have paid money to the social insurance agency since 2012.
Accordingly, these educational institutions have provided a working record since 2012 with the participation of the Department of Education and Training, Interior, Finance - Planning and District Social Insurance. The record shows the amount of insurance collection arising due to the difference when the re -transfer of salary ranks paid from the educational non -business fund to the social insurance agency.
The total amount of more than 311 million VND paid by schools is based on the minimum wage at each time. The payment document has full signatures and confirmation stamps of relevant parties.
Previously, Nam Dan District Social Insurance, during the process of appraising retirement documents, discovered 315 cases that had not paid the full insurance difference, with the amount of money collected being more than 4.5 billion VND (as of November 2024). By the end of March 2025, the number of people being collected increased to 452 people, including teachers and staff of many schools.
The reason comes from the fact that before 2006, many teachers were allowed to sign contracts at fixed salaries and had not fully applied the social insurance policy. After that, according to the province's regulations, these subjects were allowed to change their salary and collect insurance but were not completely handled.
The prolonged incident has caused hundreds of retirees to have their benefits not resolved, falling into a difficult situation. There are special cases such as Mr. Ho Quoc Chung - former Vice Principal of Xuan Hoa Secondary School, Ms. Le Thi Thuy - teacher at Lang Sen Kindergarten, who are suffering from serious illness and do not have a pension.
The People's Committee of Nam Dan district is requesting the remaining educational institutions to continue reviewing, clarifying responsibilities and reporting to competent authorities, and at the same time recommending that the provincial Social Insurance soon have appropriate handling instructions to ensure legitimate rights for workers.
