Support from experienced pillars
To prepare for the AVC Nations Cup 2025, the Vietnam women's volleyball team has completed training in Quang Ninh to move to Hanoi, training at the Dong Anh District Gymnasium, Hanoi. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet also announced a list of 14 athletes who will compete in the tournament taking place at home.
The names that coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet chose include: owner Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Nguyen Thi Uyen and Nguyen Thi Phuong; For Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen and Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh; Assistant Nguyen Thi Trinh, Le Thanh Thuy, Tran Thi Bich Thuy and Pham Thi Hien; Passing two Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Vo Thi Kim Thoa and Libero Nguyen Khanh Dang, Luu Thi Ly Ly.
The team's pillars are still present in this tournament. In the attack, returning from injury, the main striker Thanh Thuy is in good form, playing better through each tournament and is the captain of the Vietnam women's volleyball team.

At the press conference introducing the tournament (May 30), Thanh Thuy shared: "Currently, my health is 100% professional. My weakness is physical strength, so I have accumulated according to the exercise plan of experts in the past. I really hope that I will have the best form and go a long way with the Vietnam women's volleyball team".
With extensive experience in both domestic and international competitions and her courage on the field, Thanh Thuy will certainly be a solid spiritual support for the whole team.
Opposite Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen is also an important strategic card of the Vietnam women's volleyball team. With explosive playing style, strong jumping power and effective attack ability from all positions, Bich Tuyen is not only the main scoring factor but also a "special weapon" in the hands of coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet, especially when the team needs to turn the game around.
Besides Thanh Thuy, familiar names such as Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Le Thanh Thuy or Doan Thi Lam Oanh also continued to be present. The understanding of the players who have fought together many times is a big plus for the squad this time.
Expectations for new faces
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will participate in the AVC Nations Cup 2025 as host and defending champion. Under the leadership of coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet, the team participating in this tournament not only has the appearance of an experienced team but also appears new faces, creating expectations for a promising next generation.
The two most notable faces are the player duo of the Information Corps - TCT Dong Bac women's team, the main attackers Nguyen Thi Phuong and libero Luu Thi Ly Ly.
With Nguyen Thi Phuong, in the early tournament in 2025, she was the most effective nose of the soldier team. The performance of the owner was born in 1999 impressively, in the group of the players who score the most points of the matches.
She plays well, has made many improvements in health, physical strength, and agility to play tactics, while competing with dedication and effort in each phase of the ball.

Meanwhile, despite not being able to find a position in the club squad for a while, Ly Ly has gradually proven herself and gained the trust of the current coaching staff of the Information Corps - Dong Bac Command.
Libero is a position that requires stability and high courage. Although she has little experience in international competition, with her stable performance in tournaments in early 2025, Ly Ly is expected to be a supporter for the defense, helping the Vietnamese women's volleyball team overcome the weakness of taking the first step.

In addition, Nguyen Thi Uyen is also highly appreciated for her attacking ability and flexible movement. The mainstay of the Thai Binh women's team promises to be an effective attack by coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet.
It can be seen that this list of the Vietnam women's team shows a clear trend of creating a systematic generation transfer. Veterans ensure stability in expertise and spirit, while the young generation brings speed, desire and breakthrough.
Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet is highly appreciated for his ability to "new" the existing playing style in the hands of a potential team. If they can promote the strengths of each individual and create a cohesive team play, the Vietnamese women's team can completely believe in successfully defending the championship title in this year's tournament.
AVC Nations Cup 2025 will take place from June 7 to June 14 at Dong Anh Stadium, Hanoi.
