Recently, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation announced the list of players of the national women's team participating in the AVC Nations Cup (formerly known as the AVC Challenge Cup) 2025.
Accordingly, the names that coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet chose include: owner Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Nguyen Thi Uyen and Nguyen Thi Phuong; For Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen and Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh; Assistant Nguyen Thi Trinh, Le Thanh Thuy, Tran Thi Bich Thuy and Pham Thi Hien; Passing two Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Vo Thi Kim Thoa and Libero Nguyen Khanh Dang, Luu Thi Ly Ly.
According to the draw results, the Vietnam women's volleyball team will enter Group A with opponents Australia, Taiwan (China), Hong Kong (China) and India.
Meanwhile, Group B includes the women's volleyball teams of Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Iran, Indonesia, Mongolia and New Zealand.
Assessing the correlation between strength and expertise, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team fell into a "easier" group when the opponents were not too strong. Not to mention, the Vietnam women's volleyball team is the reigning AVC Nations Cup champion.
AVC Nations Cup 2025 is not only a medal-denominated tournament but also an opportunity for the coaching staff to comprehensively inspect the force before the Vietnamese women's volleyball team enters other challenges of the year such as VTV Cup, SEA V.League, World Cup and especially SEA Games 33 with the goal of overcoming Thailand to win the gold medal.
The whole team understands that this is a home tournament, where fans have high expectations. Therefore, the goal of the Vietnamese girls is certainly nothing other than winning the right to play in the final match, towards successfully defending the championship title.
AVC Nations Cup 2025 takes place from June 7 to June 14 at Dong Anh District Gymnasium (Hanoi).
