On September 17, the inspection team of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) led by Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong - Standing Deputy Minister of MOET worked with Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee on the preparation and deployment of tasks at the beginning of the 2026 - 2027 school year.
After arrangement, Dak Lak province reduced 642 establishments, leaving 625 public educational institutions directly under it, corresponding to a reduction in focal points of 50.7%. The whole sector currently has 20,710 classes with 678,168 students; the team includes 2,331 management staff, 35,898 teachers and 6,200 employees.
According to Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, the preparation for the new school year is being implemented smoothly thanks to the attention and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and Provincial People's Committee, along with the coordination between departments, agencies, branches and local authorities.
The province has focused resources on investing in education, prioritizing inter-level ethnic minority boarding schools in border areas. The work of reviewing facilities, equipment, preparing estimates and implementing student support policies is also being implemented synchronously.
However, the Dak Lak Education sector still faces many difficulties due to the large area, dispersed population and many remote schools. The management, arrangement of teachers and ensuring uniform teaching quality between areas still face many obstacles.
The need for investment, repair, upgrading of facilities and purchasing minimal teaching equipment is very large, while the ability to balance local budgets is limited. Some schools still have degraded classrooms, lack of subject classrooms and cannot be immediately overcome.
Speaking at the working session, Standing Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong acknowledged Dak Lak's efforts in preparing for the new school year, especially at schools in border areas.
The Deputy Minister requested the Education sector to continue reviewing the assignment and decentralization of management; support newly merged units; pay attention to students in remote and isolated areas; improve management capacity and promote digital transformation.
According to Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong, the theme of the 2026 - 2027 school year is "Innovation in thinking, strong transformation", with the requirement to shift from administrative management to development governance.
