Salary and allowances increased
Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 3 of Decree 73/2024/ND-CP, from July 1, 2024, the base salary will increase to 2,340,000 VND/month. Accordingly, teachers who are public school officials still apply the salary calculation method according to the formula:
Teacher salary = Coefficient x Base salary
Thus, the salary schedule for high school teachers from July 1, 2024 will adjust the base salary from 1,800,000 VND to 2,340,000 VND/month (an increase of 30%). Below are details of high school teacher salaries:
In addition, the allowances of high school teachers from July 1, 2024 will also change.
For allowances calculated based on base salary: Allowance level = Base salary 2,340,000 VND/month x Current allowance coefficient.
For allowances calculated as a percentage (%) of current salary plus leadership position allowances and excess seniority allowances (if any) as follows:
Allowance level = {(Salary rate effective from July 1, 2024 + Leadership position allowance rate effective from July 1, 2024 (if any) + Seniority allowance level effective from July 1, 2024 ( if any)} x Percentage of allowances as prescribed.
Thus, the base salary increases and many teacher allowances will increase from July 1, 2024, leading to a high increase in the total income of high school teachers.

With the new salary, new graduates can also receive 6 - 7,000,000 VND/month, teachers can gradually live on their salary.
"This shows the Party and State's interest in the Education sector. This is the highest salary increase in my more than 10 years of working. Hopefully in the future, the whole sector will continue to receive many benefits. attention, bringing Vietnam's education system to further development" - Mr. Dong expected.
