HCMC studies banning students from using phones in school

HCMC - The Department of Education and Training of HCMC is studying and advising on a proposed plan to ban students from using mobile phones during recess.

In addition, the Department of Education and Training will deploy a plan to synchronize student and teacher information based on the industry database, ensuring that the database of educational institutions in 3 areas (data of students, managers, teachers, facilities, etc.) is fully updated on the industry database. Develop a plan to determine the coordinates of all educational institutions to prepare for primary enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year.

The General Education Department is responsible for presiding over and coordinating with departments to develop a professional plan for the 2025-2026 school year, develop and implement a plan to bring artificial intelligence into teaching in schools. At the same time, closely coordinate with Saigon University and related units in teacher training and fostering to improve the ability to apply technology in teaching. Strive to effectively implement the integration of artificial intelligence into teaching activities at educational institutions from the 2025-2026 school year.

The Financial Planning Department urgently reviews the scale and construction situation of schools after the merger, synthesizes and advises on preparing to work with the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Civil and Industrial Works on school construction projects.

Study documents, refer to processes and records on tuition support for students from non-public schools in region 3 (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau) to seek opinions from relevant departments and branches to advise the People's Committee to submit to the People's Council for tuition support for students from non-public schools in the upcoming session.

Coordinate with the two areas to review the types of educational services being implemented to unify the advice of the People's Committee to submit to the People's Council in the upcoming session.

For the Student Department, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training directed the presiding over and coordination with the Financial Planning Department to inspect and review school toilets.

Research and advise on a proposed ban on allowing students to use mobile phones during recess and during educational activities at school (except for cases where the subject teacher allows them to perform service tasks during class).
