September 12. The Department of Education and Training (DET) of Ho Chi Minh City has issued a daily study schedule applicable to preschool children and primary school students in the city from the 2025-2026 school year.
Accordingly, kindergartens will open from 6:30 a.m., pick up children from 7 a.m. to no later than 8 a.m. and pick up children from 4 p.m.
Establishments must arrange teachers and staff to ensure absolute safety for children throughout their study and activities.
For high school, the first class in the morning starts at 7am, no later than 8am and ends no later than 10:30am. In the afternoon, the first class will not start before 1:00 p.m. and will not end later than bust:30 p.m., ending from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Department of Education and Training notes that schools need to open their doors to welcome students from 6:30 am to avoid letting them come or leave too early to gather in front of the school gate. Facilities located near each other on the same route must coordinate to arrange a minimum 15 minute school dismissal time to reduce traffic congestion.
The People's Committees of wards and communes are assigned to be responsible for inspecting, supervising, and handling violations.
The Department requires schools to proactively arrange flexible timetables, ensure students' health, and closely coordinate with authorities to implement effectively.
