In the 2025-2026 school year, Nguyen Du Secondary School (Ben Thanh Ward) said it will change the classroom time to 7:15 am in the morning to 7:30 am in the afternoon starting at 1:30 pm instead of 1 pm. School dismissal time is around 16:30-35, similar to the previous school year.
This time frame is also applied at Vo Truong Toan Secondary School (Saigon Ward).
Mr. Cao Duc Khoa - Principal of Nguyen Du Secondary School, said that in previous years, teaching was carried out in 2 sessions/day with a duration of 8 periods/day, this year according to the new regulations with a duration of 7 periods/day, adjustment is necessary.
"This adjustment helps students and parents have more time to prepare and move more comfortably. At the same time, when implementing 2 sessions/day, the school arranged a lunch break from 11am to 1:30pm for students to eat and sleep in the boarding house. This arrangement both ensures that students have reasonable time to rest and helps the school adjust the school dismissal time to 4:20 p.m. - in line with the time frame for parents to pick up and drop off and contribute to traffic flow," said Mr. Khoa.
Similarly, this new school year, students of Nguyen Huu Tho High School (Xom Chieu Ward) will start class 1 at 7:30 a.m., 30 minutes later than before. Afternoon classes start at 1:30 p.m. instead of 1:45 p.m. Students are dismissed from school at 4pm.
