Starting construction of 8 educational projects and works to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2
On August 19, 2025, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the whole country will simultaneously start construction of 250 national key projects. The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has registered 8 projects in the field of education - training, spread from Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Da Nang, Lang Son, Quang Ninh to Khanh Hoa, Dong Nai and Hanoi.
Among the above projects, General Secretary To Lam presented funds to build a Boarding School for Primary and Secondary Schools in Thanh Thuy commune (Tuyen Quang), the project was selected as an online bridge at the groundbreaking ceremony. In addition, there are 3 other projects also selected as bridge points: Phuc Hoa Boarding School (Cao Bang), Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics Training Facility in Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), 2C lessons - Ho Chi Minh City Open University in Dong Nai.

Many schools in Ho Chi Minh City adjust school hours in the new school year
In the 2025 - 2026 school year, many schools in Ho Chi Minh City such as Nguyen Du Secondary School, Vo Truong Toan Secondary School, Nguyen Huu Tho High School adjusted school hours. The morning starts at 7:30 instead of 7:15; the afternoon starts at once. School dismissal time ranges from 4:00 p.m. to 4:35 p.m., similar to last year. This change is in line with the new regulations on the number of periods reduced to 7 periods/day, instead of 8 periods as before.
Mr. Cao Duc Khoa - Principal of Nguyen Du Secondary School said that delaying school hours helps students and parents have more time to prepare and move conveniently. The school also arranges a lunch break from 11am to 1:30pm for students to eat and sleep in the boarding house, both ensuring health and helping the school dismissal time to better suit the parents' pick-up schedule and contributing to reducing traffic pressure.
The whole of Ho Chi Minh City in the 2025 - 2026 school year has more than 2.5 million students, an increase of 39,600 students compared to the previous school year. Quang Tri Department of Finance takes action after reflecting on the contract rights of teachers
Lao Dong Newspaper has received feedback from many teachers in the old town of Ba Don, Quang Tri province about not being paid according to the contract, despite having fully completed their tasks in the 2024 - 2025 school year. This situation makes the lives of teachers difficult when they have not received their summer salary since June 2025.
After the reflection, the Quang Tri Department of Finance directed specialized departments to review all salary payment records, and at the same time coordinate with communes to make a list of teachers with contracts according to Decree 111. When completing the procedures, the Department will immediately add funds to promptly pay the teachers.
According to the Department of Finance, in other localities of the old Quang Binh province, local funding has been flexibly used for payment, but Ba Don town has not implemented this direction.
