Ben Tre College is late in paying salaries due to no new principal

According to the reflection of some employees working at Ben Tre College, the school has not yet paid the May salary to officials and employees.

Mr. Huy (character's name has been changed) said that the situation of "waiting for salary" is creating a worried mentality for the team of teachers and workers working at the school. The governing body of Ben Tre College has not yet issued a decision to appoint a new principal or assign a temporary responsible person to have the authority to sign and approve the salary table. This delay has caused officials and employees at the unit to not yet receive their May salary.

"The delay in paying salaries has seriously affected personal and family life. I hope that the People's Committee of Ben Tre province and the school leaders will pay attention and soon have a solution," said Mr. Huy.

According to the investigation of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Ben Tre College currently has more than 180 officials and employees working there.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters over the phone on May 16, Mr. Phan Anh Tuan - Vice Principal of Ben Tre College - said that Mr. Nguyen Van Huan - Principal of Ben Tre College - has retired since May 1, 2025. Currently, the school has 2 Vice Principals, but because they have not been appointed or assigned to be in charge of the school by the competent authority, the 2 Vice Principals cannot sign salaries to pay the staff and workers at the unit.

According to Mr. Tuan, the school is waiting for the Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee to appoint or assign a temporary responsible person with authority to sign and approve the salary table to pay to the civil servants and employees at the unit.

"The school's leaders have informed the entire school's staff in early May 2025 to hope that the staff and workers at the unit will sympathize and share about the delay in paying salaries," said Mr. Tuan.
