In 2026, the University of Science (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) plans to enroll students using 2 methods:
Direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and admission of foreign candidates (advanced program, enhanced English); Admission combined with the results of the 2026 high school graduation exam or the results of the competency assessment (CA) exam organized by Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) in 2026 by major/group of majors with transcript scores for 3 years of grades 10, 11, 12.
All scores will be converted to a 30-point scale before applying the combined admission score calculation formula. For international foreign language certificates, the school only converts to the English exam score.
Score calculation formula for combined consideration method:
Admission score = Academic score + Bonus points + Priority points
For candidates with high school graduation exam scores: Academic score = w1 × high school score + w2 × transcript score
If the candidate has a competency assessment score: Academic score = w3 × competency assessment score + w4 × transcript score
The coefficients w1, w2, w3, w4 will be announced by the school along with the admission floor. In case there are both scores above, candidates are given the most favorable option.
The admission result is converted to a scale of 100 with the formula:
Announced admission score = 100 × (Admission score/30).
