On June 27, information from Nghe An University said that the school has just been allowed to train two new majors.
Specifically, on June 23 and June 26, 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training issued decisions allowing Nghe An University to conduct undergraduate training in two new majors: Primary Education (majority code 7140202) and Natural Science Pedagogy (majority code 7140247).
With this decision, the school is officially allowed to organize enrollment, training and grant university degrees according to the provisions of the Law on Higher Education. At the same time, the school is responsible for implementing the work of ensuring training quality, developing and implementing program quality assessment plans according to the roadmap.

The two newly opened training majors are of great significance in supplementing teacher human resources for the North Central region, contributing to improving the quality of basic education and meeting the development needs of the education sector in the new period.
The school's leaders said that being assigned the task of training two more pedagogical majors affirms the school's capacity and careful preparation for the teaching staff, training programs and facilities in recent years.
Previously, Nghe An University merged Nghe An Pedagogical College, thereby expanding the scale and strongly orienting the development of the pedagogical sector. The addition of new training majors is a strategic step for the school to gradually affirm its position in the higher education system, especially in the North Central region.
Currently, the school is urgently completing preparations to organize enrollment for two new majors in the 2025-2026 school year, and has a plan to support scholarships and tuition fees to attract students to study pedagogical majors in the context of a huge demand for teacher recruitment.
