On the morning of March 6, Lao Dong Newspaper organized a seminar "2025 Admissions Consulting: Changes to create fairness".
Sharing at the seminar, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoa - Head of the Department of Testing and Training Quality Assurance, University of Transport shared new points in the school's enrollment plan for 2025.
Accordingly, in 2025, in addition to traditional combinations, the University of Transport will open an additional GT1 admission complex (Math, Physics, IT).
"This year, the University of Transport has added a new complex to serve admissions for majors such as Information Technology, computer science, computer engineering and majors related to automation...
Although this is not a traditional combination, for students with good abilities in the 3 subjects of Math, Physics, and Informatics, we believe that we will study well in the training program that the school recruits" - Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoa analyzed.
The second new point that candidates need to note when applying for admission to school based on high school transcripts or considering high school graduation exam scores, Math scores will be calculated as a coefficient of 2.
"We highly appreciate students with good Math thinking. Therefore, although the Ministry of Education and Training has not yet required it, the school will proactively apply it right from this school year" - Ms. Hoa said.
In 2025, the University of Transport plans to enroll 4,500 students at its headquarters in Hanoi and 1,820 students at the Ho Chi Minh City branch.
The 4 admission methods applied by the school include: Considering the scores of the 2025 high school graduation exam and students who won national and international awards; Considering the scores of high school transcripts; Considering the results of the competency assessment exam of Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University; Considering the results of the thinking assessment exam of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
With the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, the school calculates the total score of three subjects according to the combination, in which the score in Math is doubled, then added with priority.
With the method of considering high school transcripts, the school uses 6 semester scores of three subjects in the combination, Math is also multiplied by a coefficient of 2. The condition is that the average score of each subject in each school year must not be below 5.5.
In both of these methods, candidates can use an IELTS certificate of 5.0 or higher to convert when registering for groups with English subjects. The corresponding conversion rate is from 8 to 10 points.
With the methods of considering scores to assess capacity, thinking, and branch in Ho Chi Minh City, admission is only based on the exam of Ho Chi Minh City National University.
The targets, methods, and admission combinations for each major are as follows:
