Investing more than 335 billion VND to prepare for the new school year
According to the Department of Education and Training of Dak Nong province, in the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province has 370 educational institutions at all levels.
Entering the 2024-2025 school year, from various sources of capital, the Dak Nong Province Education Department has invested more than 335 billion VND to prepare for the new school year. Of which, 324.26 billion VND will be used to build new classrooms, renovate, repair and upgrade facilities.
Reality shows that many localities prioritize focusing investment capital on building new and repairing schools to meet the criteria for new rural construction and building schools that meet national standards.
Dak Glong is a remote and disadvantaged area of Dak Nong province. However, Dak Glong district is the unit with the largest investment in education with over 120 billion VND.
According to the People's Committee of Dak Glong district, with this funding source, the locality has built 44 new classrooms; 46 subject classrooms; 1 principal's office; 6 multi-purpose buildings... In addition, the locality also focused on repairing technical infrastructure items in schools and other auxiliary works.
In Dak Glong district, Quang Hoa commune is the most remote and difficult area of the district. In this locality, mainly ethnic minority children study.
It is noted here that the preparation work for the new school year has been seriously and methodically implemented by the school, ensuring teaching and learning in the new school year.
In the 2024-2025 school year, Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School in Quang Hoa Commune, Dak Glong District is expected to have about 600 students studying in 20 classes. In this new school year, teachers and students of the school will study in 6 solid classrooms that have just been invested in and built.
“The 2024-2025 school year is the year of implementing the General Education Program for 5th graders. Thanks to the construction of new classrooms, the school can ensure the need to organize teaching 2 sessions/week according to regulations,” shared Ms. Thai Mai Thinh, Principal of Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School.
Ensuring human resources for teaching
According to Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Nong province, right before the new school year, the Education sector has reviewed the need for teachers for the new school year.
On that basis, the unit has directed educational institutions to implement a number of solutions suitable to the actual conditions in localities such as consolidating classes, rotating teachers from areas with surplus to areas with shortage. In addition, localities and educational institutions can also arrange staff and teachers to teach in many schools near each other in the same area...
According to Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, to ensure all conditions for organizing the new school year, the Provincial People's Committee has organized inspections of preparations in districts and cities in the province. From there, the unit has promptly guided and directed educational institutions and localities to overcome current limitations and difficulties in both human resources and material resources.
"The Department recommends that localities quickly recruit contract teachers according to regulations to supplement the current shortage of teachers. The Department of Education and Training has also recommended that all levels add more teachers to meet long-term teaching and learning needs," said Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Nong province.
