Earning more than 100 million VND but the number of classes "counts on the fingers"
Recently, many parents with children studying at Rosemont Vietnam International Kindergarten in Hapulico building, Thanh Xuan Trung ward, Thanh Xuan district have continuously complained about the quality of boarding meals, facilities as well as their children's study time.
Ms. Ha Phuong - a parent whose child attends this kindergarten (character's name has been changed upon request) said that her family has paid 104 million VND/year to the school since September 2024 to send their children to school after Tet. But in reality, after her child had only been to school for a few sessions, the school announced a continuous holiday.
"The first phase is on February 16-17 to "disease and prevent influenza A and Rota epidemics". The school continues to let students stay at home on February 18 - 19 due to "power outage", scheduled to welcome children back on February 20.
On February 26, the school said that students would go to school normally from March 3, but in reality it was closed and had turned off the power. In total, parents received all 8 school closure notices from the school.

The children have gone to school on February 24 and 25, but the school has told them to temporarily study at a nearby facility, which is actually a playground. The facilities are limited, the children eat egg white rice with boiled vegetables, making parents upset" - Ms. Phuong said.
"We reported to the police but could not contact them. There is currently no schedule to go back to school" - she said.
Previously, another parent whose child was studying at Rosemont Vietnam International Kindergarten also accused the school of collecting tuition fees of more than 100 million VND/year but providing poor quality services.
"The children have to sleep on the floor in cramped, cramped conditions. The rice is contained in plastic bags, children have to eat standing without proper tables and chairs. Seeing those images, no one can accept it, especially when the school is famous for its "international" status and parents have spent a large sum of money in the hope that their children can study and live in the best environment" - the mother shared.

Verification results
Regarding the incident, Ms. Dinh Thi Bich Thuy, Head of the Preschool Education Department, Hanoi Department of Education and Training, said that she had received a report from the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Xuan District.
After inspection and verification, the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Xuan District said that My Rosemont International Kindergarten was established on October 17, 2018 by the People's Committee of Thanh Xuan District; located at building 21 T1 hapulico Complex No. 1 Nguyen Huy Tuong, Thanh Xuan Trung Ward, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Department of Education and Training coordinated with Thanh Xuan Trung Ward Police to conduct a field inspection and requested the school owner to prepare a report. At the time of inspection, the school had a power outage in the building, no students, and no activities were organized.
The school's owner explained that he had only paid 50 million VND to the rental unit, the remaining debt was postponed to February 28 but was not agreed and was required to increase the rental fee to 15% per month starting from January 2025.
In addition, the school owes February salaries to staff, teachers, and employees. The school's owner pledged to try to find a way to fix and resolve the issue as soon as possible.
The Department of Education and Training of Thanh Xuan District has also requested the school owner to work with the renting unit to reach a consensus; Organize meetings and provide complete, accurate and public information to parents, staff, teachers and staff of the school on the school's solutions; Commit to a roadmap and time to implement the remediation to ensure the rights of students, staff, teachers and staff; Timely report the school's situation to management agencies.
The Department also introduced quality kindergartens in the area so that parents can send their children if needed, and coordinated with the district's departments and offices to strengthen the inspection and supervision of the implementation of professional regulations of the sector and legal regulations for non-public preschools.
According to information on the website, Rosemont Vietnam International Kindergarten has 4 locations in Thanh Xuan, Hoang Mai, Long Bien and Nam Tu Liem districts.
In November - December last year, children at Long Bien facilities had to stay at home after teachers stopped teaching due to unpaid wages. The authorities said the facility was licensed as the "Rose Mountain Private Preschool Group," not "rosemont American International Preschool".
