International school in Ho Chi Minh City is about to stop operating due to difficult enrollment

Chân Phúc |

HCMC - Saigon Pearl International School (ISSP) will stop operating in 2025 due to difficulties in enrollment.

On February 15, speaking with Lao Dong, a representative of Saigon Pearl International School said that the school will only maintain operations until the end of this school year on June 19 and the school's last working day will be July 19, 2025.

According to this person, the school has sent an official notice to parents and staff of the school; at the same time, committed to supporting students, teachers, staff and families of ISSP and planning to admit ISSP students to another school in the same system.

All ISSP students will be transferred to Ho Chi Minh City International School (ISHCMC) if parents agree, with an equivalent tuition fee for two years.

Regarding the reason for the suspension, Saigon Pearl International School said that it is facing a challenging context when the number of enrollments is decreasing, causing pressure, negatively affecting the future of the school and its ability to develop sustainably.

Saigon Pearl International School added that there will be a full-time team to support parents in the process of transferring to ISHCMC or looking for other international schools that suit the wishes of families.

This team will support aspects of the transfer process, including reception, study programs and school life.

"We will also try our best to prioritize taking care of the spirit of students, creating every opportunity for them to maintain the precious friendships that have been built throughout their time studying at ISSP", the school informed.

Saigon Pearl International School also said that it is looking for new job positions for teachers and staff of the school at other educational institutions in the same system, in Vietnam as well as Asia.

Saigon Pearl International School was established in 2010, teaching preschool and primary school children under the International Talent Program (IB).

The school has about 200 students, with tuition fees of about 243-572 million VND/year, excluding uniforms, lunch and pick-up expenses.
