On August 24, the University of Technology (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) organized direct enrollment for nearly 4,240 new students. Of which, nearly 3,000 candidates have come to complete the procedures.
According to the school's statistics, 2,625 students have scores of 27 or higher, accounting for about 62%, an increase compared to previous years. This score includes plus points (maximum 3), calculated for all three methods based on high school graduation exam scores, based on Hanoi National University's (HSA) competency assessment test scores, and SAT standardization test scores.
Notably, more than 190 candidates achieved the absolute threshold. If there are no bonus points and priority points, this group will score from 27 points in a combination of 3 subjects or higher, from 98/150 HSA points, or SAT from 1,440/1,600 or higher.
Meanwhile, the admission score is from 22.14 - 28.19, the highest for Information Technology. This is also the major with the most candidates achieving absolute admission scores - nearly 80 students.

Prof. Dr. Chu Duc Trinh - Principal of the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi - commented that the school's enrollment this year was "successful".
"The total target of the school is more than 4,000, an increase of more than 1,000 compared to last year, but the admission score for all training programs is still very high" - Prof. Dr. Chu Duc Trinh said.
He added that technology majors that are already attractive are now increasingly interested in and trusted by candidates and parents thanks to many recent policies on science and technology development.
Many other top schools such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Science and Technology also recorded the benchmark scores for STEM majors, especially Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, increasing compared to the previous year.
How to convert the score of the University of Technology (Vietnam National University, Hanoi):
With the method of considering graduation exam scores, admission scores are calculated according to the formula:
Admission scores = Total scores of three subjects according to the combination + Plus points + Priority points
(For the combination D01 - Math, Literature, English, the Math score is multiplied by a coefficient of 2 and then reduced to a scale of 30).
With the SAT admission method, the admission score is reduced to a scale of 30 according to the formula:
Admission score = ( SAT score x 30./160 +ons + Priority points.
With the HSA admission method:
- Admission score = Convertible HSA score + Plus score + Priority score.
- The school uses HSA points converted according to the same conversion table provided by Hanoi National University.
In addition to the priority points for subjects and areas according to the regulations of the Ministry, the school will add bonus points for candidates with national and international prizes or candidates using a combination that does not have English but has an IELTS certificate of 5.5 or higher. The total bonus points are not more than 3/30.
