10th grade enrollment in Ho Chi Minh City, 137 high schools increase targets

In the 2026-2027 school year, Ho Chi Minh City enrolls more than 180,000 students in 10th grade public schools, with most schools increasing enrollment quotas.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) has announced the 10th grade enrollment targets for 181 public schools.

In the 2026-2027 school year, the whole city enrolls more than 118,000 students in grade 10, equivalent to more than 70% of the total of more than 169,000 students completing the secondary school program.

According to statistics, out of 181 high schools, 137 schools increased enrollment targets.

Phuoc Kien High School increased the most with 375 targets; followed by Thai Hoa High School increasing 365 targets; Nguyen Van Tang, Vo Truong Toan, Ho Thi Bi high schools also increased 315 targets.

If calculating the increase from 250 targets or more, there are also 10 other high schools including: Binh Phu High School increased by 294 targets; Nguyen Hue Secondary and High School increased by 290; Trinh Hoai Duc High School increased by 275; Thu Thiem, Tan Phu, Nguyen An Ninh, Le Minh Xuan, Ly Thuong Kiet, Quang Trung high schools also increased by 270; and Tay Son Secondary and High School increased by 250 targets.

Only 4 schools reduced quotas, including: Practical High School - Ho Chi Minh City University of Education; Olympic Sports Talent High School; Phu My High School (Ba Ria - Vung Tau area before) and Nguyen An Ninh High School (Binh Duong area before).

The group of schools with the highest enrollment, over 1,000 students, includes: Nguyen Van Tang High School enrolling 1,225 students; Mac Dinh Chi High School enrolling 1,060; Hung Vuong High School and Tay Thanh High School both enrolling 1,035; Marie Curie High School enrolling 1,000.

Among the 181 high schools this year, there are 5 high schools enrolling for the first time, including: Phu My ward high school, Tan Phu ward high school, Thoi An ward TH-THCS-THPT, Di An ward high school and Dong Hung Thuan ward high school. The list of these schools has been updated on the enrollment system at ts10. hcm. edu. vn.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training noted that the names of the above 5 schools are temporary names and will be officially updated after the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issues a decision to name them.

It is expected that the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will announce the number of students registering for nguyện vọng 1 in public high schools on May 4. From May 4 to 5 pm on May 8, students can adjust the registered nguyện vọng (add/reduce/change the order), and are not allowed to register for additional types of enrollment.

The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year takes place in two days 1-2. 6. Candidates take three compulsory subjects including Literature, Mathematics and Foreign Language; in cases of registering for specialized or integrated classes, they will take additional subjects accordingly.
