On May 1st, a post appeared on social networks reflecting a group of tourists having a meal at Sam Son beach with a total cost of nearly 18 million VND.
According to the content shown on the invoice, the menu includes dishes: fried corn, steamed large red crab, grilled small black tiger shrimp, grouper, grilled oysters with scallion oil, Malabar spinach, stir-fried water spinach, fried eggs, braised meat with shrimp paste with soft drinks, mineral water and Tiger beer.
Notably, steamed red crab is priced at 1.7 million VND/kg, with 7kg, the total amount is more than 12 million VND.
However, the invoice does not fully show the name and specific address of the restaurant, only generally stating Ho Xuan Huong street, Sam Son.
After the information was posted, many opinions suggested that the price for red crab dishes is unusually high and needs to be clarified.
Regarding the incident, the leader of Sam Son Ward People's Committee said that they had grasped the information and sent an inter-sectoral inspection team to verify.
Because the invoice does not clearly state the address and name of the restaurant, and the ward has not received direct feedback from tourists, it is not possible to verify specifically" - a representative of Sam Son Ward People's Committee informed.
According to this person, the locality is coordinating with tax authorities and market management forces to trace invoice data, and at the same time requested the Police to intervene to clarify the case.
