On the afternoon of October 20, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said it had sent a document to the People's Committee of Binh Minh commune to strengthen the management of organizing boarding meals for students.
The move was made after the press reported that parents of Cu Khe Primary School simultaneously let their children stay home from school to protest the school's way of doing things after the incident of food not being guaranteed to be put into the kitchen.
Accordingly, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requested the People's Committee of Binh Minh commune to direct functional units of the commune to inspect and review food safety conditions; and the organization of boarding meals at Cu Khe Primary School and schools in the area.
Binh Minh Commune People's Committee strictly handles any violations of hygiene, food safety or violations of regulations on food supply contracts for students.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training also requested the People's Committee of Binh Minh commune to direct Cu Khe Primary School to continue organizing boarding meals, not to interrupt and affect the rights of students, while creating peace of mind for parents when sending their children.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training also requested the People's Committee of Binh Minh Commune to inform the results of the inspection and the plan to stabilize the boarding activities at Cu Khe Primary School to the Department for synthesis and reporting to the City People's Committee.

On the same afternoon, the leader of Binh Minh Commune People's Committee said that he had directed schools in the area to support cooking and provide boarding meals for students of Cu Khe Primary School during the selection of new units according to regulations.
In the immediate future, schools in the area will ask for support in cooking additional meals for students starting tomorrow (October 21), while waiting for the school to arrange a stable boarding kitchen.
According to the leader of Binh Minh Commune People's Committee, this plan is proposed to ensure that students' studies and activities are not interrupted, while also resolving parents' concerns.
Regarding the long-term solution, this problem needs more time to be completely handled.
Regarding the question of whether there is enough food to provide for students of Cu Khe Primary School, the leader of Binh Minh commune said that the Department of Culture - Social and Economics will specifically review and then report to the commune leaders.

Also this afternoon, homeroom teachers at Cu Khe Primary School simultaneously sent messages to parents.
The notice reads: "Starting tomorrow (October 21), the children will take boarding as usual. The school prepares boarding meals for students. Any parent who gives their child a boarding pass will send a private message to help the teacher compile a report".
