On October 14, many students at the Center for National Defense and Security Education - Thai Nguyen University showed symptoms of digestive disorders. Immediately afterwards, the Center's medical department reported to the leaders and deployed emergency measures.
According to statistics, 244 students suffered from abdominal pain and were monitored and given medical care, of which 9 cases showed more severe symptoms and were transferred to A Thai Nguyen Hospital for examination.
Initial causes are predicted to be related to the digestive system, water sources, or foods used in meals.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Vien Dong - Deputy Director of the Center for National Defense and Security Education - Thai Nguyen University, the unit has coordinated with relevant agencies to review all kitchens and water sources, and at the same time report to the Department of Health to check the cause.
After that, the inspection team including the Department of Health and specialized agencies directly worked at the Center, took water samples, and checked the food processing and preservation process.
Currently, students' health is basically stable, learning and living activities have returned to normal.
The center is waiting for the official conclusion from the authorities to determine the cause.
