On September 19, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province issued a document directing to clarify information about the food rations of teachers at a kindergarten in Chau Duc district being accused of being cut; strictly handle violations and do not avoid, cover up, or deal with them.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Chau Duc District People's Committee to urgently verify and clarify the content of the above incident; assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to direct and thoroughly rectify the entire education sector in the province to implement boarding work in schools, ensuring food safety and hygiene and the quality of boarding meals for students and teachers; assigned the Department of Health to direct the Food Safety and Hygiene Branch to coordinate with units to regularly organize inspections and supervision to ensure food safety and hygiene in schools, especially in blocks with boarding schools.
At the same time, the Department of Education and Training needs to strengthen inspection work, combining regular and surprise inspections, guiding and requiring schools to declare menus, publicize ingredients, and publicize full-quantity meals to all parents...
Previously, a social networking site named T.X.T posted a picture of a 30,000 VND meal for teachers and staff of Anh Duong Kindergarten (Chau Duc district) consisting of only rice and 2 pieces of ham, with a little fish sauce. Some other pictures of the meal tray contained rice and a few pieces of stir-fried meat with bamboo shoots. This incident is said to have been going on for several months.
In response to the information, Mr. Nguyen Tan Ban - Chairman of Chau Duc District People's Committee issued a document directing the investigation of the incident. Immediately after that, some teachers and staff were refunded the meal money they had paid after deducting the meals in September 2024.
Afterwards, the Chairman of Chau Duc District also organized a dialogue with teachers and staff of Anh Duong Kindergarten; without the participation of the school's board of directors and department heads. Thereby, many opinions were received expressing the workers' indignation towards the school's principal; no one dared to stand up to denounce for fear of being persecuted or affecting their work.
On that basis, Chau Duc District People's Committee decided to conduct a comprehensive inspection of Anh Duong Kindergarten. If any signs of violations are found, the inspection team will temporarily suspend the principal from work according to regulations.
