On October 20, Principal of Bac Son Secondary and High School Tran Xuan Bach said he is waiting for information from the authorities to proceed with the case against the student who beat his friend to the point of hospitalization.
Mr. Bach informed that the form of discipline is decided by the school's Disciplinary Council, but the incident is being investigated by the police, so the school is waiting for the results from the authorities. From here, the school will have a basis to consider more accurate and educational discipline. The school will handle the incident seriously to demonstrate discipline in the educational environment.
Thanh Hoa Commune Police (Tuyen Hoa District) said they are working with relevant parties to have a basis for handling the case in accordance with regulations.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, Bui Thi Thanh Ha, the older sister of student B.V.K, class 11.2, Bac Son Secondary and High School (Tuyen Hoa district, Quang Binh province) recounted the beating of her younger brother. On October 3, during recess, K was sitting in class when two male students (M.T.Q, class 11.2, and P.T.T, class 11.4 - studying at the same school) - rushed in and beat him up.
“After being beaten, K was taken to the Youth Union office. At that time, my younger brother had a headache, was dizzy, and nauseous. The family had to take K to the hospital. After working with all parties, the two male students who beat K admitted that K did not cause a fight,” said Ms. Ha.
At Huong Khe Medical Center, K was diagnosed with “other specific injuries affecting multiple areas of the body”. On October 7, K was discharged from the hospital and returned to school. However, while at school, K continued to have headaches, dizziness, and nausea, so her family took her to the Commune Health Station for an IV.
Ms. Ha added that during K's time at school, he was threatened with beatings many times, causing him to want to drop out of school. His family encouraged K to continue studying.
"We hope that the authorities will handle the case seriously so that similar cases of school violence do not occur again," said Ms. Ha.
