The accident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. on August 28 on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway, km26 through Tan Lap Commune, Lam Dong Province.
At that time, the tractor-trailer with license plate 75H-XXX.96 traveling from North to South collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer in the same direction in front with license plate 36H-055.XX.
The collision caused the cabin of the 75H-XXX.96 tractor-trailer to break and deform. The driver and the assistant of the 75H-XXX.96 tractor-trailer were taken by ambulance to Binh Thuan General Hospital for emergency care.
However, driver L.K.D (born in 1985, Hue city) died later. The bus driver suffered minor scratches and is currently being treated at the hospital.
After the incident, Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6, Department 6, Traffic Police Department immediately arrived at the scene to regulate traffic and place warning signs.
After that, the authorities temporarily closed the expressway on the North-South traffic route. The authorities also regulated vehicles to travel to National Highway 1.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Lam Dong Province Police and other professional units are conducting a crime scene investigation and requesting an autopsy to clarify the accident.
