Initial information, at about 3:20 am on January 25, at Km129+600 National Highway 20 (Bao Lam 2 commune, Lam Dong province), a head-on collision occurred between two trucks, killing two people and injuring two others.
At the above time, a 1.25-ton truck with license plate 60C-407.75 driven by driver Luong Hai Sam (42 years old, residing in Dong Nai province) was traveling on National Highway 20 in the direction of Ho Chi Minh City - Da Lat.
On the truck driven by Mr. Sam was also assistant driver Ha Tuan Thanh (28 years old, residing in Binh Hung Hoa A ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
When arriving at the section passing Dai Nga bridge, in Bao Lam 2 commune (Lam Dong), it collided head-on with a 1.4-ton truck with license plate 49B-098.54 driven by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thien (37 years old, residing in B'Lao ward, Lam Dong) traveling in the opposite direction.
On the truck Mr. Thien was driving was also assistant driver Nguyen Van Khai (26 years old, residing in Hoa Ninh commune, Lam Dong). The scene of the accident showed that after the strong collision, both vehicles completely deformed the cabin, Mr. Thien and Mr. Khai were trapped.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Force of Lam Dong Provincial Police quickly arrived at the scene and deployed rescue work.
Because the victims were trapped in the cabin, functional forces had to use cutting devices to remove the driver and assistant driver.
After many efforts, driver Nguyen Dinh Thien and assistant driver Nguyen Van Khai were taken to Lam Dong Hospital II for emergency treatment. However, due to severe injuries, both died at the hospital.
Driver Luong Hai Sam and assistant driver Ha Tuan Thanh (28 years old, residing in Ho Chi Minh City) were slightly injured and are being treated at the hospital.
After the accident, functional forces of Lam Dong province and Bao Lam 2 commune quickly arrived to regulate traffic, examine the scene to investigate and clarify the cause of the incident.
Currently, the cause of the traffic accident is being investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
