The project of landslide prevention and landscape restoration of the south bank of the Tra Khuc River, the section from Tra Khuc bridge to Tam Thuong wharf, belonging to Cam Thanh and Nghia Lo wards, was approved by the Provincial People's Committee with a total investment of 380 billion VND; of which, the construction value is more than 280 billion VND. The project was started at the end of December 2024.

The project includes items including investing in and building a new embankment section nearly 1.2km long; renovating Ba To park and investing in riverside parks in the northern section of Ton Duc Thang street, Ba Trieu street; building a new Ton Duc Thang street, connecting from Quang Trung street to Truong Sa street; rainwater and wastewater drainage system, observation tower, service house...

Currently, the contractor has completed the entire vertical wall embankment and embankment items. Ba To Park has also been expanded, and landscape-creating items have been installed. The highlight of the entire project is the light hemisphere and observation tower in the shape of a boat's bow on the Tra Khuc River, symbolizing the image of Quang Ngai reaching out to the vast ocean.

These two items have a total construction floor area of 750m2, steel pipe and beam structure, concrete floor. According to the design, this item will have an art lighting system using automatic color-changing LED lights, programmed to create beautiful lighting effects. When completed, this will be an attractive sightseeing spot on the banks of the Tra Khuc River.
According to the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the realized value to date has reached more than 227 billion VND, equivalent to about 88% of the contract value. It is expected that by the end of June 2026, the realized value will reach nearly 91%.
According to the plan, Ba To Park area and main items will be completed before July 30, accepted and put into use before August 15, 2026.

Currently, nearly 3,200m2 of ground belonging to the Ton Duc Thang road plan has not been handed over, so the contractor cannot deploy the construction of the remaining road section. According to the investor, after completing site clearance, the unit will focus on construction, striving to complete it before October 30, 2026 for acceptance, handover and putting the entire project into operation.
