Slow progress, many items not completed according to plan
Provincial Road 624B is an important traffic route connecting National Highway 1 with western communes of Quang Ngai province. The flood in late 2024 caused serious landslides at Km14 + 500, the section passing through Dinh Cuong commune, damaging the roadbed and surface and affecting people's travel.
To ensure traffic safety, the project to overcome negative taluy landslides, foundation, and road surface at Km14+500, DT. 624B route was started on January 25, 2026, with a total investment of more than 17 billion VND.

According to the plan, the project will be completed and put into use on July 30, 2026. However, the project is currently quite struggling.
Faced with this situation, Mr. Mai Van Ha - Deputy Director of Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Construction has just signed a document requesting urgently to accelerate the project construction progress.
According to the direction of the Department of Construction, Thanh Dat Construction Co., Ltd. - the construction unit, must mobilize maximum manpower, machinery, and equipment; organize many construction teams at the same time in a rolling manner, maximizing favorable weather conditions, increasing shifts to compensate for the delayed volume.
The Department of Construction especially requests contractors to focus on thoroughly handling the items of drilled piles and retaining walls to prevent the risk of continued landslides of existing taluy slopes, ensuring safety for traffic works and surrounding areas; at the same time, urgently increase labor for retaining wall construction, immediately deploy sand filling behind the retaining wall - an item that has been delayed compared to the plan from May 21.

For Thien Phuc Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company - the design consulting unit, the Department of Construction directed to continue to arrange professional personnel to be on duty at the site; closely coordinate with the investor, project management unit, supervision consultant and construction contractor to promptly handle technical issues.
In addition, Binh Minh General Consulting Co., Ltd. (supervision consultant) and Tam Anh ATP Co., Ltd. (project management consultant) are assigned to strengthen inspection and regularly be on duty at the construction site to urge progress.
The risk of slow planning is unavoidable
According to the report of the supervision consulting unit, as of June 12, the actual construction volume value outside the site only reached more than 8.6 billion VND, equivalent to about 50.2% of the contract value (more than 17.2 billion VND). Although the project has passed more than half of its implementation time, the construction progress to date has not yet met the requirements according to the approved plan.

Mr. Ho Anh Viet - Deputy Director of Binh Minh General Consulting Co., Ltd. informed that the drilled pile item as required must be completed before June 12. However, up to now, there are still 11 piles at the construction site that have not been completed.
Meanwhile, the retaining wall item is required to be completed before July 6, but with the slow progress of implementation as it is now, the risk of delaying the plan is unavoidable.
Not only is it behind schedule, but the contractor's construction organization measures have also not complied with the investor's instructions. For the bored pile item, the construction unit continues to use the cable drilling method, even adding an additional cable drilling equipment at the construction site, contrary to the direction of the Department of Construction (rotation drilling).
Continuing to apply this construction method not only potentially affects the safety of neighboring infrastructure projects and road projects, but also does not meet the requirements of accelerating progress.
