At the inspection, Secretary of Can Tho City Party Committee Nguyen Van Hieu requested the City People's Committee to direct investors, departments, branches, Land Fund Development Center and local authorities to closely coordinate to speed up the project's progress.
In the process of land acquisition and site clearance, it is necessary to have the consensus and support of local people, ensuring transparency, fairness, and compliance with legal regulations in decisions related to land acquisition, compensation and resettlement.
The Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee requested Co Do district to soon complete the recovery of an area of 17.9 hectares to build a rest stop, ensuring the overall progress of the entire project.
Emphasizing the planning and land use along the expressway, the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee stated that it is necessary to implement it effectively, in conjunction with the development of transport infrastructure and economic activities. Urban planning and land use planning around important traffic intersections, making the most of the existing land fund to serve the socio-economic development of the locality, avoiding waste.
The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project through Can Tho City, invested by the Can Tho City Construction Investment Project Management Board (CMBPM), has a total of 5 construction packages (including 4 construction packages and 1 traffic safety system construction package). The total value of the 4 main construction packages is over 13%.
According to the report, the total demand for sand for filling of component project 2 is about 7 million m3. Sand is supplied from mines in An Giang and Tien Giang provinces; of which, the volume of sand qualified for use for the expressway that An Giang can supply is about 2.3 - 2.4 million m3, and Tien Giang is about 2.62 million m3.
However, about 700,000m3 of sand in An Giang province has been transferred to the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway. The total sand source that An Giang and Tien Giang provinces plan to provide for component 2 project is about 4.3 million m3. Thus, up to now, the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway project through Can Tho is still short of more than 1.92 million m3 of sand.
The investor proposed that the People's Committee of Tien Giang province continue to support the implementation of the next procedures to soon exploit sand materials at the mines. The investor also proposed that the People's Committee of An Giang province consider and support the return of the volume of 700,000m3 of sand transferred from Binh Phuoc Xuan mine to Can Tho city to ensure the source of materials for the project section through Can Tho city.
The total area that needs to be cleared for the entire project route is nearly 258.5 hectares with 1,055 households. To date, 1,015 households have handed over the land with an area of about 240 hectares, reaching nearly 93% equivalent to more than 36.5km; of which, the cases located on the main expressway route have been handed over at 100%.
There is a rest stop on the route in Co Do district with an area of nearly 17.9 hectares. In the construction of the rest stop, 40 households will be affected, and land acquisition is expected to be completed in November 2024.
The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project Phase 1 is over 188km long, passing through 4 provinces/cities: An Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang and Soc Trang. The scale of Phase 1 includes 4 lanes, designed speed of 100km/h. The total investment of the project is about 44,700 billion VND. Component 2 project is located in Can Tho, over 37km long, total investment of over 9,700 billion VND.
