At the conference to remove difficulties and obstacles and promote the development of transport infrastructure in the Mekong Delta region held on October 16, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Tran Viet Truong said that the Can Tho - Hau Giang section project is invested by My Thuan Project Management Board and the compensation, support and resettlement work is separated into a separate sub-project organized and implemented by Cai Rang District People's Committee.
Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Tran Viet Truong informed that the total length of the main route and IC2 intersection is about 1.2 km; the total length of the expressway connecting route is about 9.2 km. The total area of land clearance is 54.3 hectares; A total of 690 households are affected; The resettlement demand is 168 households (with 204 plots).
Regarding landfill No. 8 located on the highway, the Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Committee stated that the Cai Rang District People's Committee has approved the design and estimate with the landfill area to be relocated being 1.95 hectares, the implementation cost is 13.08 billion VND. Up to now, the selection of contractors to relocate the landfill is being organized and will complete the handover of 100% of the site before December 31.
According to the report of My Thuan Project Management Board, the project's construction output has reached 46% of the plan, 11% behind schedule. Of which, the main route has been filled to the elevation of 78km of waterproofing wicks, reaching 85%; 67km of waterproofing wicks, reaching 73%; and filled to the elevation of 24km of loading. The entire route has 117 bridges, and the contractor has completed the deck of 45 bridges.
It is expected that all bridges on the main route will be completed before December 31.
Regarding sand material sources, the contractor has brought 9.8 million m3 to the construction site, still lacking 5.67 million m3. To ensure completion of the embankment in 2024, the investor has worked with the locality to supplement the sand source. Accordingly, An Giang coordinated 1.4 million m3; Vinh Long provided an additional 0.8 million m3; Dong Thap increased the capacity of two mines.
Currently, the unit continues to coordinate with Tien Giang province to complete exploitation procedures for about 0.6 million m3; Ben Tre province about 2 million m3.
According to the plan, the project must complete the bridges on the route by December 31. However, there is still a lot of work left to do.
