The Son Duong town bypass and the construction of a bridge across the Pho Day River have a total length of more than 4km, with a total investment of over 329 billion VND, including site clearance (GPMB) and construction packages. The project is invested by the Department of Transport of Tuyen Quang province. Construction started in November 2021.
According to the reporter, on October 23, after 3 years of implementation, the project is almost completed. The entire length of the route has basically been paved with asphalt concrete, sidewalks have been paved, and auxiliary items such as lighting, signs, and lane markings are being implemented.
Currently, there are nearly 400m of road left at the end of the route due to hard rocky terrain, so the contractor is focusing on chiseling and breaking rocks to create a construction surface. Expected completion in October 2024.
Meanwhile, the Pho Day River overpass, the final section connecting to Km 188 National Highway 37, is also being re-constructed after more than a year of being suspended due to land clearance failure.
Ms. Tran Thi Lien (Son Duong town), one of the households whose land was recovered for the project, said that after receiving compensation, her family rebuilt the house in a new location and has been living there for nearly half a year now.
"This is the first bypass of the town. Once completed, traffic will be convenient and our people will have the opportunity to trade and develop the economy," said Ms. Lien.
To implement the project, 17.8 hectares of land were acquired, spanning 9 residential groups of Son Duong town and 1 village of Tu Thinh commune with nearly 230 affected households.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Bui Ngoc Van - Director of 27/7 Company, the construction contractor, said that according to the contract schedule, the project will be completed in November 2024. Currently, only the last section of the route is being cleared of rocks to create a flat surface.
"Because the final section of the route has complex terrain, the design of some items had to be adjusted and re-approved to suit the reality, so the construction was delayed. We are coordinating with the investor and relevant agencies to speed up this work," Mr. Van informed.
According to the investor, currently, the construction progress has reached over 90%, the problems in the project have been basically resolved, striving to complete and put the route into use by the end of 2024.
