The Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board has just issued a temporary traffic organization plan on the North - South expressway, La Son - Hoa Lien expressway section (Hue - Da Nang) to ensure safety during the expansion construction process.
According to the announcement, prolonged heavy rain has caused landslides at many taluy slopes on the route. Damage points have been temporarily handled, but there are still potential risks of traffic unsafety. Therefore, adjusting traffic organization is necessary.
During the time of applying the plan, passenger cars with 9 seats or more and trucks on 6 axes are prohibited from circulating on the route. The remaining vehicles are allowed to move but must comply with a maximum speed of 60 km/h.
At the Km50+700 negative taluy landslide location, vehicles are only allowed to circulate at a maximum speed of 30 km/h. This is a high-risk area, which needs to be strictly controlled to avoid incidents.
For vehicles serving construction that are restricted, contractors must have a written registration, accompanied by confirmation from the Management Board, and send it to relevant agencies to be considered for circulation permits.
Along with restrictions on the expressway, a traffic diversion plan is also being implemented. Passenger cars with 9 seats or more and trucks on 6 axes moving in the North-South direction are guided to follow National Highway 1A. The route to the Khe Tre area is adjusted through Provincial Road 14B.
The temporary traffic organization aims to reduce pressure on the under construction route, while ensuring safety for people and vehicles. Functional agencies recommend that traffic participants need to comply with traffic signs, guide traffic flows and proactively choose appropriate routes.
This plan will be maintained until the landslide treatment and expansion construction items are basically completed, ensuring stable operating conditions.
