On the morning of December 20, the My Thuan Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction) informed about the adjustment of the time to put into operation at the Can Tho - Hau Giang Component Project, part of the North - South Expressway Project in the East.
According to previous press information, the Can Tho - Hau Giang Component Project, part of the North - South Expressway Project in the East, was inaugurated on December 19 and is expected to be put into operation at 9:00 a.m. on December 20.
However, due to the need for time to clean up the site and dismantle equipment at the construction site, and at the same time check the exploitation conditions, My Thuan Project Management Board announced an adjustment to the time to put the Can Tho - Hau Giang Component Project into operation at 9:00 a.m. on December 22.
Accordingly, vehicles traveling from Can Tho City to Hau Giang will travel according to the route as follows:
From Can Tho City, travel along National Highway 91B towards Cai Cui Port (Cai Rang Ward, Can Tho City).
When reaching the roundabout (road to Cai Cui Port), vehicles turn onto the connecting route to the expressway at IC2 intersection, travel to IC5 intersection (Vi Thuy commune, Can Tho city) to National Highway 61B through the branch routes at the intersection.
In the opposite direction, vehicles along National Highway 61B follow the branch road at IC5 intersection to the expressway, to IC2 Intersection, to the expressway connection route to the National Highway 91B roundabout.
The speed of traffic on the route for vehicles is limited to a maximum of 80km/h, minimum of 60km/h. The maximum speed of branches at the intersection is 40km/h.
The North-South expressway construction project in the East phase 2021 - 2025 includes 12 component projects, with a total length of about 729km. Including component projects of the Can Tho - Hau Giang section and the Hau Giang - Ca Mau section.
The total investment of the Can Tho - Hau Giang component project is 10,370.74 billion VND; The Hau Giang - Ca Mau component project is 17,152.65 billion VND. The total length of the entire expressway is 110.87km; of which, the length passes through the provinces/cities: Can Tho (64.25km), An Giang (17.05km), Ca Mau (29.573km).
The inauguration and opening of the Can Tho - Hau Giang Component Project and the opening of the Hau Giang - Ca Mau section have especially important economic and social significance, creating strong development momentum for the Mekong Delta region.
