Lao Dong's record at noon on August 30 - the second day of the National Day holiday September 2, the number of vehicles heading from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai, Vung Tau and Central provinces increased sharply. At many sections on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, cars lined up closely, moving slowly, at times drivers had to wait about 10 minutes to move a little further.
Neighboring roads leading to the expressway such as Mai Chi Tho, Luong Dinh Cua, Do Xuan Hop,... are also in a state of prolonged congestion.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan (resident of Phuoc Long ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said that his family departed early in the morning to take their children to Vung Tau for the holiday. However, as soon as they got on the highway, the car had to move slowly.
Normally, this road section is quite fast, but today the bus is too crowded. The whole family has been in the car for quite a long time and has not gone far yet," Mr. Tuan said.
The congestion situation makes many families with young children tired. Many people choose to start early in the hope of avoiding crowded traffic, but the rapid increase in vehicle volume makes the expressway still overloaded.

Ms. Nguyen Quynh Nhu (resident of Binh Trung ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said that her family plans to return to her hometown in Dong Nai on the holiday. According to her, slow travel has affected her schedule.
We also know that the holidays will be crowded, but we didn't think the traffic would be jammed for so long. We just hope to get through this section so that the journey ahead will be more convenient," Ms. Nhu shared.
Until about 11 am, the traffic flow on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway was still tense. The number of vehicles continued to increase, while the traffic capacity on the route was limited, causing prolonged congestion.

Previously, on the first day of the August 29 holiday, this expressway also experienced congestion of more than 10km. Traffic police and route management units organized regulation, traffic diversion, and vehicle guidance to reduce traffic pressure.
Functional agencies recommend that people proactively choose the appropriate time and route and follow instructions when traveling. For people from Saigon Bridge who want to enter the expressway through Mai Chi Tho, they can go straight from Vo Nguyen Giap to Dong Nai Bridge to continue along National Highway 51 or National Highway 1.
In case of going on Vo Chi Cong street to get to the highway at Phu Huu roundabout, people can go straight through Phu Huu bridge, follow D1 road towards Vo Nguyen Giap and then turn right towards Dong Nai bridge.
