Recorded on August 29 at some supermarket systems in Ho Chi Minh City, the number of customers began to increase compared to normal days. At Co.op Mart Ly Thuong Kiet supermarket (Dien Hong ward), the area of fresh food, vegetables, meat, fish and ready-made stalls, many customers pushed carts full of goods, taking advantage of shopping for the holidays.

Not only essential goods, the area of confectionery, soft drinks, beer, snacks and processed foods also attracts many customers. Many families choose to buy ready-made food to organize meals at home or prepare for short trips.
Ms. Dang Thi Minh Anh (living in Dien Hong ward) said that her family took advantage of shopping right on the first day of the holiday to avoid the crowded scene in the following days.
My family plans to go out for a few days but still wants to prepare some food. Today, the supermarket is quite crowded, especially the fresh food and processed food area. Many items are also having promotions, so I bought more than planned" - Ms. Anh shared.

A similar situation was also recorded at Emart Phan Van Tri supermarket (An Nhon ward). In the checkout area, the large number of customers caused buyers to queue at many times. However, the arrangement of an additional cashier counter and support staff helped the congestion situation not last long.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoang (living in Hanh Thong ward) said that the long holiday is an opportunity for family reunions, so shopping demand is also increasing.
My family invited each other to eat and drink, then stopped by the supermarket to buy some food to prepare for the holidays. The supermarket is quite crowded today, many items are also discounted, so we took the opportunity to buy some necessary items" - Mr. Hoang shared.

According to records, to meet the increased demand during the holidays, supermarkets have increased inventory, added staff in crowded areas and implemented many discount programs. Promotions are focused on fresh food, packaged food, beverages, cosmetics and consumer goods.
The shopping atmosphere is forecast to continue to be vibrant in the coming days, especially in the morning and evening hours. Besides people buying goods to serve family needs, a part of customers also take advantage of holidays to visit and play at shopping-combined shopping centers.
