On the afternoon of February 21, Hai Phong City Police informed about the incident of a car crashing in a chain reaction on Le Hong Phong street in the afternoon of the same day. Accordingly, at about 2:45 pm on February 21, Mr. D. X. H (born in 1962, residing in Hung Dao ward, Hai Phong City) was driving a car with license plate: 15A-823. 59 in the direction of Le Hong Phong overpass to Trung Luc street.
When arriving at the intersection of Le Hong Phong - Trung Luc street, Mr. D. X. H drove a car and collided, hitting 12 motorbikes stopping at a red light in the same direction. As a result, initially determined, 3 people were injured and had to be taken to the emergency room, some people suffered minor scratches and some vehicles were damaged.
As Lao Dong newspaper reported, the incident occurred in the afternoon of February 21 at the intersection of Le Hong Phong street and the road to lot 16D Le Hong Phong. According to witnesses, a white car traveling from the BigC roundabout to Cat Bi airport in the mixed lane suddenly rushed into a line of motorbikes waiting for a red light. About 10 motorbikes were hit and lying scattered on the road, damaged. Initial records show that many motorcyclists were injured, and a young child was dragged under the car, and was taken to the emergency room by people.
Immediately after the incident occurred, the traffic police force of Hai Phong City Police quickly arrived at the scene to regulate traffic and clarify the cause of the incident. The car driver was also taken to Hai An Ward Police for investigation.
