When swimming at My Khe beach, Quang Ngai on the afternoon of the 5th day of the first lunar month of Binh Ngo 2026, a family from Dak Lak had 3 victims, including 2 missing.
At about 3 pm, Tinh Khe Commune Police received a report of the incident in Co Luy village area. Three victims including Mr. Tran Ngoc Trieu and two children, Tran Ngoc Kim Ngan and Tran Ngoc Gia Phat, both residing in Dak Lak province. Immediately after discovering the incident, local people promptly rescued baby Tran Ngoc Kim Ngan and took her to a medical facility for emergency treatment. Currently, the baby's health has passed the critical stage and is being monitored and treated.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Trieu and his nephew Tran Ngoc Gia Phat were swept away by waves and went missing. Tinh Khe commune authorities coordinated with forces to organize searches.
Functional forces recommend that people and tourists when swimming in the sea should choose the main beach area, where rescue forces are on duty; limit swimming offshore, avoid deserted areas. Do not be subjective when using buoys because there is still a risk of encountering offshore currents and dangerous whirlpools.
