National Highway 12B through Tan Lac and Lac Son districts (Hoa Binh province) is an important route connecting National Highway 6 with Ho Chi Minh road. Recently, this route has been invested in and repaired, making people's travel and trade much more convenient than before.
On December 2, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters were present on National Highway 12B through Tan Lac and Lac Son districts. According to records, the road has been repaired a lot, people's travel is more convenient than before, and the road surface no longer has potholes.
Here, many locations are under construction and repair with dozens of workers and machines of contractors in a bustling atmosphere.
Mr. Dang Trung Kien - Head of Project 1, Project Management Board for Construction and Maintenance of Traffic Works (Department of Transport of Hoa Binh province) said that the unit is currently assigned to manage 2 bid packages, with a total value of 45 billion VND to repair about 13 km of National Highway 12B.
According to Mr. Kien, after the repair, many damaged road surfaces have been repaired, ensuring safety for people and vehicles when participating in traffic. Currently, traveling on National Highway 12B is more convenient than before, helping to promote economic development and trade.
"According to the plan, the above two packages will be completed in March 2025, however, the unit has requested contractors to speed up the progress, trying to complete before Lunar New Year" - Mr. Kien added.
Mr. Nguyen Van Son (37 years old, truck driver on the Thanh Hoa - Son La route) said: "National Highway 12B is quite narrow, so if two large cars meet, they will take up the entire road. It will be very difficult to overtake if there are other vehicles moving at the same time.
Along the route, there are also densely populated areas and locations such as schools, medical facilities, traditional markets, etc., with a large number of vehicles, posing a high risk of traffic insecurity.
According to Mr. Son, after being repaired, the road is more beautiful, travel is much safer than before, and travel time is much shorter than before it was repaired.
Ms. Bui Thi Van Anh (residing in Vu Ban town, Lac Son district) shared that people are very excited that the important road has been repaired after many years of damage. Now, traveling is more secure, especially when unfortunately getting sick and having to travel to the city.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Bui Van Dan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Vu Binh Commune (Lac Son District) informed that National Highway 12B passing through the locality is a vital trade route at the gateway to the Northwest. Therefore, the daily traffic volume is very large.
According to Mr. Dan, the investment in repairs has made trading much more convenient than before, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of communes in Tan Lac and Lac Son districts.
