In the afternoon of May 3rd, the number of vehicles returning from the Central provinces to Ho Chi Minh City after the holiday increased sharply.
Along with that, the flow of vehicles from tourist destinations such as Mui Ne, Nha Trang pouring in caused the traffic density on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay and Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressways to increase.

The commander of Highway Traffic Police Team No. 6 (Room 6, Traffic Police Department) said that the unit has coordinated with the Traffic Police of Lam Dong Provincial Police to organize regulation and traffic diversion from afar.
The main measure is to temporarily close the expressway entrances at some intersections at different times to reduce traffic volume on the expressway.

When the entrance to the North-South expressway is temporarily closed, cars are instructed to move along National Highway 1. When the traffic volume on the expressway decreases, functional forces will reopen it for vehicles to continue circulating.
Recorded at the Ba Bau intersection, from about 1 pm on the same day, functional forces were on duty and temporarily closed the entrance to the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway.

Similarly, at the National Highway 55 intersection, vehicles are also regulated to National Highway 1 during peak hours. Many cars running into the intersection have had to turn around.
On the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, from noon on the same day, the North - South entrance at the National Highway 28 intersection was also temporarily closed to reduce the load on the main route.

This measure has also been implemented since the afternoon of May 2nd when the traffic volume began to increase, and at the same time, some collisions occurred on the route, causing local congestion.

According to records, many drivers accept stopping at intersections to wait for the highway entrance to be reopened, instead of moving on alternative routes, in order to shorten travel time.
