On August 14, according to Lao Dong, after a period of expansion, many important items of the Nguyen Tuan Street renovation project (Thanh Xuan Ward, Hanoi) have been completed, bringing a new look to the street that is considered a traffic "bottleneck".
Previously, Nguyen Tuan was always overloaded with vehicles due to high traffic volume, plus a series of offices and high-rise apartments growing densely on both sides of the road.

The narrow road surface causes frequent congestion during rush hour. However, after the site was cleared and expanded, the road became airy, vehicles no longer crowded, especially at a time when the capital was urgently preparing for the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
According to observations, the construction unit has dismantled corrugated iron fences at many locations, conducted technical traffic opening, ensuring smooth traffic.
The road surface has been renewed, and part of the section from 162 Nguyen Tuan to the Nguyen Tuan - Nguyen Huy Tuong intersection has been paved with asphalt concrete.

Items such as sewers, stations for water supply and drainage systems, installation of communication pipes and lighting systems are still being implemented.
Mr. Dang Hoang Linh, Head of the Thanh Xuan Ward Infrastructure and Investment Project Management Board, said that the construction progress was adjusted from September 2025 to early 2026, expected to be completed in March 2026.
The main reason is the process of converting local governments at two levels, changing investors, processes and procedures for bidding, causing some packages to be slower than planned.
The site clearance work still has problems at 35A Nguyen Tuan, an old 2-storey apartment building with 6 households living there. Currently, because the specific land price has not been determined to calculate compensation when reclaiming, the handover of the site cannot be completed.

The Nguyen Tuan Street expansion project was approved by the People's Committee of the old Thanh Xuan District in 2018, with a total investment of nearly 400 billion VND. The road is 720m long, starting from Nguyen Trai intersection, ending at alley 162 Nguyen Tuan. The cross-section is expanded to 21m, of which the roadway is 15m, with sidewalks on both sides 3m.

To implement the project, the government has reclaimed and cleared 14,334m2 of land from 11 organizations and 160 households and individuals. However, many households did not agree to hand over the site, causing the project to stall for a long time.
It was not until November 2024, after many campaigns and mobilizations, that the liberation work was basically completed. Immediately afterwards, the local government directed the Construction Investment Project Management Board to coordinate with contractors to speed up the progress.
When completed, the expanded Nguyen Tuan route is expected to reduce traffic pressure on neighboring roads such as Le Van Luong and Nguyen Trai, while contributing to urban beautification, creating momentum for socio-economic development for Thanh Xuan area and Hanoi City.
