According to the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of Hanoi City Police, in the early morning of January 28, at Nghiem Xuan Yen Street, Xuan Thuy - Cau Giay intersection, Thach Ban - Co Linh intersection, Giai Phong - Ngoc Hoi... there was a traffic jam because vehicles stopped at red lights to enter the highway in different directions moving out of the city. Traffic police forces maintained at checkpoints and intersections to ensure the completion of their tasks.
At some intersections such as National Highway 32, going to Thang Long Bridge and going up to the elevated Ring Road 3... vehicles stopping at red lights only take 1 to 2 light strokes (if there are many vehicles) to move.
Captain of Traffic Police Team No. 6 - Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Chien - said that 100% of officers and soldiers are on duty to ensure traffic order and safety from the 29th of the 12th lunar month to the first day of Tet. At the same time, patrol teams and checkpoints are arranged at fireworks display sites to serve the people.
It is expected that around 10,000 people will flock to Hoan Kiem Lake to watch the fireworks display on New Year's Eve. Traffic Police Team No. 1 has organized traffic control forces from a distance and in areas around Hoan Kiem Lake.
Captain of Traffic Police Team No. 1 - Major Nguyen Hoang Ninh - said that there is no plan to strictly ban the roads like the time when the walking street space takes place. However, when moving to the central area to watch fireworks at New Year's Eve, people need to follow the instructions of the force on duty on the road. While moving, keep a distance and obey the law as well as behave civilly when participating in traffic.
